The Tobique First Nation, one of six reserves of the Wolastoqiyik or Maliseet people in New Brunswick, Canada, has recently enacted a new law on gambling and betting. The territory of Tobique borders the United States (state of Maine).

The Tobique First Nation has appointed the DLAG Licensing Advisory Group as a direct licensee in this new gaming zone. DLAG is responsible for issuing new licenses granted by Tobique to approved betting operators and gaming platform providers.

  • If you are a software vendor developing games for operators, you will need certification from major vendors such as iTechLabs, GLI and BMM Testlabs.
  • A functioning website upon completion of the licensing process.
  • Online operators must comply with customer identification and security requirements.

Operators are not required to physically locate servers on the territory of Tobique, but customer information, account data and betting history must always be available to DLAG and the Tobique Gaming Council. Non-compliance will be subject to fines from the regulator.
