Citizenship in Vanuatu: stability and privacy

The Republic of Vanuatu is a Pacific nation located in Melanesia. This island nation attracts investors from around the world due to its stable political system, tax benefits, and streamlined citizenship acquisition process.

Benefits of Vanuatu Citizenship

  • Visa-free access to more than 135 countries worldwide, including all European Union countries, the United Kingdom, and Russia. Additionally, Vanuatu citizens can apply for an Australian visitor visa (subclass 600) and a US tourist visa.
  • No residency requirements for successful second citizenship applicants.
  • Tax benefits: Vanuatu does not impose taxes on income, property, or inheritance, does not enter into tax agreements, and ensures banking and commercial confidentiality in a developed banking sector.
  • Access to programs that are currently closed to citizens of the Russian Federation and Belarus, such as the residence permit program in Greece.

The Application Process for Vanuatu Citizenship

To apply for Vanuatu citizenship under the Development Support Program (DSP), applicants must go through two stages.

At the first stage (FIU Clearance — due diligence), the applicant must provide the following documents:

  • A notarized copy of the passport (page with the photograph).
  • A certificate of no criminal record from the country where the main applicant, spouse, and children over 18 years old have resided for more than 1 year, as well as its English translation.
  • A second document confirming identity (national ID), for example, an internal passport of the Russian Federation (a notarized copy with translation).
  • CV in English (for the main applicant and spouse).
  • Birth certificate (a notarized copy with translation).

For children under 18 years old, it is only necessary to provide a notarized copy of the passport (page with the photograph) and a birth certificate (a notarized copy with translation).

Obtaining a second citizenship in Vanuatu is a fast and reliable way to ensure safety, confidentiality, and tax benefits for yourself and your family.
