Registration of Charity Foundation in Poland
Both a resident and a foreigner can establish a charitable foundation in Poland. The main condition is that the head office of the future company should be geographically located within the state. The organization or individual establishing the foundation may carry out not only charitable but also entrepreneurial activities on its behalf. However, the income from such activities should be fully spent on socially significant projects. It will not be possible to get profit for personal purposes from the activities of the charity fund, given that it is strictly controlled by special management bodies.

- Activities in the field of children education and the creation of innovative educational programmes;
- Cultural development;
- Social support for citizens who need help;
- Nature conservation;
- The revival of cultural objects.
Polish charitable foundations must have a clearly defined goal and mission; they may receive support from the state if they include one of the areas to which the government pays special attention. The minimum starting (share) capital for registration of a foundation planning to conduct business activities is PLN 1,000. If there are no such activities in the planned, the size of the foundation can be reduced.
List of documents:
- Documents confirming the identity and citizenship of its founders;
- Notarial act, certifying the intention of the founders to create a charity fund;
- Documents of the future fund.
The most important is the charter of the registered organization and related protocols. Registration authorities will be interested in information on the full and public name of the fund, data on its location, the purpose of establishment and mission, information on types of planned activities and initial capital, the structure of management bodies and selected supervisory bodies.
Cost of registration
In 2020, the amount required to establish a fund may vary significantly. Its size depends primarily on the future of the fund, the requirements of its founders and the packages of additional services discussed individually.
